GÉNÉRAL THIERRY BURKHARD,CHEF D’ÉTAT MAJOR DES ARMÉES (CEMA) 21 mai 2025PROGRAMMES // PROGRAMSLe Cycle Géopolitique s’est poursuivi avec une intervention du Général d’armée Thierry Burkhard, Chef d’État-Major des Armées, lors d’une rencontre organisée à la Galerie Kraemer.Dans un contexte de recomposition accélérée des équilibres, le Général Burkhard a dressé un état des lieux clair et précis des principales mutations de l’environnement de sécurité global. Il a notamment évoqué la montée en puissance des menaces hybrides, le développement des capacités cyber, et l’évolution des conflits vers des formes plus diffuses et moins conventionnelles.Son intervention a mis en lumière l’impact durable de la guerre en Ukraine sur la stratégie de défense française et européenne, et la nécessité de renforcer la cohérence stratégique du continent. Il a également insisté sur le rôle de l’OTAN et du lien transatlantique dans cette nouvelle phase d’instabilité, ainsi que sur l’importance croissante des coopérations technologiques entre acteurs publics et privés.Il a enfin souligné l’enjeu de l’innovation industrielle pour garantir une autonomie stratégique à long terme.Cette rencontre a offert une réflexion structurée sur les défis actuels et futurs de la défense, dans une approche prospective tournée vers l’action.The Geopolitical Cycle continued with an address by General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of the Defence Staff, during a meeting held at Galerie Kraemer.In a context of rapidly shifting global power dynamics, General Burkhard provided a clear and thorough overview of the key transformations shaping the international security landscape. He discussed the growing prominence of hybrid threats, the expansion of cyber capabilities, and the evolution of conflicts toward more diffuse and unconventional forms.His remarks underscored the lasting impact of the war in Ukraine on both French and European defense strategies, highlighting the need to strengthen strategic cohesion across the continent.
