Young Leaders Café SeriesThis year, FAF-US relaunched its Young Leaders Café series in partnership with FAF–France. Our spring café focused on innovative approaches to drive meaningful and concrete action in the fight against climate change. In the fall, Young Leaders gathered to honor veteran and military-affiliated Young Leaders through a candid, cross-cultural discussion on military life, civilian transitions, and the enduring importance of the Franco-American alliance.Cyber Security ConferenceThe Foundation’s 11th annual Cyber Security Conference, jointly hosted with FAF–France in Washington, D.C., took place on December 4th and 5th at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. This year’s theme was “Putting Cyber Security into Practice: A Transatlantic Discussion.” Discussion Topics:• Hybrid Warfare• Paris Olympics• Cyber Security Literacy• Election disinformation• Artificial IntelligenceWe were honored to welcome Chris Inglis, Former U.S. National Cyber Director, and Ambassador Nathaniel C. Fick (YL 2010), U.S. Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy. Our Cyber Security webinar series welcomed speakers Kate Weber, Head of Governance, Google Quantum AI, who discussed quantum technologies, and Chris Inglis, who spoke on current critical cyber challenges.37th Annual Translation PrizeSince 1986, the French-American Foundation Translation Prize has sought to recognize the vital role translators play in bringing French literature to English-speaking audiences. In 2024, the Prize received a record number of submissions. Our jury of literary experts ultimately selected two winners: Frank Wynne’s translation of The Annual Banquet of the Gravediggers’ Guild by Mathias Énard in fiction, and Angela Hunter and Rebecca Wilkin’s co-translation of Louise Dupin’s Work on Women by Louise Dupin in nonfiction. Winners were celebrated at an awards ceremony in June at the Strand Bookstore’s Rare Book Room in New York City and received awards totaling $20,000. The event featured a keynote address by Jonathan Galassi, translator, editor, and Chair of publishing company Farrar, Straus & Giroux.Transatlantic ForumThe Transatlantic Forum is a membership group of seasoned professionals from an array of backgrounds who have a shared interest in contemporary Franco-American issues and topics. In 2024, we hosted seven Transatlantic Forum dinners and five webinars on topics ranging from sports diplomacy to U.S. & EU elections.Forum Speakers:• David Kahn, CEO and Co-Founder of Paris Basketball• Tara Varma, Visiting Fellow at the Center on the United States and Europe• Alex Gambal, wine connoisseur and author of Climbing the Vines of Burgundy• Yasmina Jaafar, journalist and author of Ils ont choisi la France• Tracy Sefl, National Democratic Communications Strategist and Consultant• Douglas Heye, former Deputy Chief of Staff of the U.S. House of Representatives• Jean-Marie Guéhenno, former U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations.Policy Event SeriesThe Policy Breakfast & Soirée initiative is a cornerstone program of the French-American Foundation, designed to convene thought-leaders from diverse sectors to engage in meaningful dialogue on pressing economic, social, and political issues. The evening also celebrated Raymond J.
